What do we do?

Discovering the Thames on a paddleboard

Paddleboard Maidenhead provides all the equipment  and coaching you need to explore the safe, calm waters around Maidenhead Riverside. You will learn all about the 'essentials' of paddling. Most of our sessions are suitable for the complete beginner and challenging enough for those with experience who want to improve their paddling skills. Children of all ages are most welcome.

You have your own board?

Please do join us, you will learn a lot and enjoy the paddling community.  We paddle all year round if you are brave enough!

What are your choices?

We hire boards as long as you have paddling experience. If you have a large group, lots of kids or beginners with you, we recommend hiring an instructor, to make the most of your river trip.

We welcome complete beginners and those wanting to improve their paddling &  river skills. Boards are included in the price or there is a 'Bring Your Own' option.

Explore new sections of the Thames, all  tuition & equipment is included or BY0 board. No experience needed, learn as you go! Small kids welcome on board, strong kids +8 years learn to master their own boards.

Different locations, different experiences

Within a paddlers reach we have  some of the most  beautiful stretches  of the Thames River stretching from Marlow to Bray. Whether you are a complete novice to paddleboarding or you own your own board, we can offer you 4 completely different Guided River Trips. Each trip is 2 hours long and will launch from different locations. You don't need paddling experience to begin  as you learn as you go. However you may feel more comfortable and confident to have a Beginners Lesson before embarking on these trips.

Small group Guided River Trips are lead by a qualified Paddlesports Instructor.  You can either make up a group of 6 friends and family or come alone and join a group on the day. All equipment and coaching is included in the price. We offer a 50% discount if you have your own board. Once you complete the series of 4 Guided River Trips and completed a 2 hour ‘Skills & Rescue’, you can hire boards from us to explore these parts of the river on your own for a discounted price.

It is not as difficult as it looks! Experience the ultimate relaxation on the water. Most of our sessions will include  stretches as it is a great way to prevent achy ankles and shoulders whilst paddling.   Tara (the owner of Paddleboard Maidenhead ) is a yoga teacher as well as Paddlesports coach. She says " the first time I went on a board I thought this is moving yoga mat!". They have many similar health benefits; they both make you breathe more deeply; challenge balance, strength and your ability to move in all directions; they work the heart,  super relaxing especially when outside lying down.

paddleboard instructors of Maidenhead

All of our River Guides are qualified British Canoe Paddlesport Instructors and have completed additional training with British Stand Up Paddleboard Association. The guides are all licenced, insured and hold current  Emergency First Aid qualification. They are a fountain of knowledge when it comes to local history, geology and wildlife if that interests you.

Most importantly they thoroughly enjoy being out on the water, in all weather and with groups of all ages.

Each Guided River Trip group has 2-6 paddlers, at least one Senior Instructor  and most likely one of our energetic Junior Instructors.
